SOSUE Fashion: Made with love in Portugal

SOSUE Mode: Mit Liebe in Portugal hergestellt

Discover the stories behind our sustainable fashion and learn more about the close collaboration with our Portuguese partners.

SOSUE fashion is produced throughout the European Union. However, our main producers are based in Portugal. It is now the fourth largest textile producer in the EU. The country has a long textile tradition, an innovative clothing industry, meets environmental regulations, and offers fair working conditions. This is very important to us because we want to ensure that EU standards are met.

Another important point that works in our favor as a start-up is the fact that there are many small and medium producers here who value quality and are open to smaller fashion labels. Since our start in 2016, we have experienced this repeatedly and are very grateful for the trust and commitment. This includes not only the acceptance of smaller runs but also the increased offering of fabrics made from recycled material or Organic Cotton. Another advantage for us is the geographical proximity, which benefits our customers. For example, if a look is sold out, we can quickly reproduce the blouses or dresses to meet all wishes. This means not only short delivery routes but also that we only produce as much as we can sell. This conserves further resources.

"Here our unique Hero Pieces are created. This process is marked by deep emotion and passion."

But what does the collaboration look like concretely? Sue and her sister Vanessa visit Portugal twice a year for a few days to exchange ideas directly with the producers. "Here our unique Hero Pieces are created. This process is marked by deep emotion and passion. Every seam is carefully discussed and literally checked twice. We do not shy away from discussions about new styles or fabric choices, but when we find a compromise, it is always an uplifting feeling," Sue said during her last visit a week ago. She further explains: "It's not just about investments in money and risks, but also about entrepreneurial foresight and trust. Sometimes the political developments scare me. But I have read that fear is a good driver for courage. We have that and a mission: to make as many women as possible happy with our styles."

The exchange takes place all year round because Sue is always working on new ideas in the SOSUE studio. The art lies in quickly recognizing a trend and implementing it in a way that fits SOSUE. Additionally, it must meet our quality standards: good workmanship, comfortable cuts, and high wearing comfort so that all women feel good in our fashion. All this is achieved with our Portuguese partners. Only when the prototype meets all expectations does it go into production.

Our labels say "Made with Love in Portugal." This is not just a saying; our fashion is passionately made in Portugal. And that is a great fortune for us and our customers.
