SOSUE was founded in 2016 in the heart of Hamburg by sisters Sue Giers and Vanessa Gieser. After pursuing their individual careers, the two mothers decided to bring their shared vision to life: a fashion label for women in the prime of life who embrace their own style.
What began as an idea grew into an international brand – rooted in Hamburg, inspired by the world.
SOSUE stands for modern femininity, confidence and effortless style. Our collections combine timeless silhouettes with distinctive details, high-quality materials and exacting standards of fit and craftsmanship.
We design for women of different generations and for a wardrobe that does not need to be reinvented every season. Many of our styles are no-season pieces, proven designs remain part of our collections for years, and numerous styles are available in one size.
One of our signature pieces is the iconic Antonia blouse. It has been part of SOSUE for many years and is now one of our absolute bestsellers.

Quality begins with design for us and does not end with the finished product.
Every SOSUE piece is developed in Hamburg. High-quality materials, distinctive textures, great fits, and meticulous workmanship are at the heart of our work. Our goal is to create favorite pieces that are effortless, versatile, and made to be worn again and again.
Around 95% of our collection is made in Europe – primarily in Portugal and Italy, as well as in Romania and Turkey. We have been working with many of our family-run production partners since our founding in 2016.
For selected cashmere and merino wool knitwear styles, we have also recently begun working with a specialized family-run manufacturer in China. Here, too, quality, expertise, and high-quality workmanship are our top priorities.
When selecting our materials, quality, texture, and comfort are what matter most. We use cotton, merino wool, and cashmere, among other materials, as well as organic cotton and recycled fibers for selected styles. We do not use leather, fur, angora, or down.

We don’t believe a favorite piece should become obsolete after just one season.
That’s why many SOSUE styles are designed as no-season pieces. Successful cuts remain part of our collection for years and are repeatedly reinterpreted in new colors, materials, and variations.
Many of our designs are also available in one size. Relaxed silhouettes and thoughtful cuts make them versatile to wear and give every woman the freedom to style SOSUE in her own way.
We also handle remaining stock with care. Whenever possible, unsold items are reworked, reused, or donated. At SOSUE, items in perfect condition are never destroyed.

SOSUE was founded by two women and mothers. That’s why social engagement has naturally been an integral part of our brand for many years.
We support selected projects and organizations that are particularly committed to helping women, children, and families. These include Women for Women, Childaid Network, Die Arche Hamburg, Lions Club Mallorca, as well as projects related to the Sylt Children’s Hospital.
Fashion is our passion. But we also want to use our reach to give something back wherever support is needed.

SUE GIERS
Creative Director & Fashion DJane with fashion in her blood and the relentless urge to translate visions into fabric. Fashion has always been more than just clothing for me. Even as a child, I showed my grandmother sketches and explained exactly what she should sew for my Monchichis. I sensed early on how much expression, magic, and personality can be contained in a well-thought-out look. For a long time, fashion was my secret hobby, a creative outlet I never pursued loudly. But then I had the opportunity to dive deep into the fashion industry – not just on the surface, but truly in the middle of it: I was able to accompany design processes, understand materials, and learn about production paths. And it was exactly there that I built my professional network, which supports me to this day. Today, I am Creative Director of SOSUE – and I see myself a bit like a DJane: I mix, remix, combine old and new, play with contrasts, and create new, surprising silhouettes from them. This is exactly how our iconic Antonia blouse came about – from three different blouses, a statement piece with its own story was created. I prefer to work hands-on. I need to feel fabrics, pin cuts, see colors in daylight. That's why I regularly travel to Portugal to source fabrics on site and engage directly in creative exchange with our partners. What drives me is the play with form, function, and fantasy. Our hero piece – the SOSUE Antonia blouse – is never the end, but the beginning of a new story. I love developing new designs from it – sometimes as a coat, sometimes as a dress, sometimes as something completely unexpected. Always with the claim to make our DNA tangible: fashion with soul, depth, and real character.

VANESSA GIESER
As the managing director of SOSUE, I am responsible for the development and growth of the entire company; from marketing, sales, finance, and e-commerce to production and international expansion. What drives me is the versatility of my job: mastering new challenges every day and further developing SOSUE with creativity as well as entrepreneurial thinking. Together with my sister Sue, I form the heart of SOSUE. We bring different strengths that complement each other perfectly and make our company strong. Sue, with her tireless passion for fashion, is our lovingly called "truffle pig" – she senses trends, gives each collection a special signature, and delights our community with her joy for social media and content creation. Without this drive and her creativity, SOSUE would not be what it is today. We are never alone in this: behind us stands a sensational team we are incredibly proud of. Without this support, many things would not be possible. Equally important are our partners: from production sites to agencies; all work with us on equal footing, share the same spirit, and the passion for our brand. This network, shaped by mutual trust and support, makes SOSUE what it is: a company that lives in every facet of collaboration and solidarity.
