With the arrival of the cold seasons, the question often arises as to how we can optimally support our health and well-being during the winter season. One option that has gained popularity in recent years is cryotherapy. But what exactly is behind this cold trend, and why should you consider it?

What is cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy, also known as cold therapy, is a medical treatment method in which the body is exposed to extremely low temperatures, usually between -110°C and -160°C. This is done in special cryosaunas or cold chambers, where you stand in a controlled environment of dry cold for a short time. The treatment usually lasts only a few minutes. During this short time, the body responds to the extreme cold by diverting blood from the outer tissues to the core region of the body to protect vital organs. After the treatment, the warmed blood returns to the outer tissues and promotes blood flow, resulting in various health benefits.
Why Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy offers a variety of potential health benefits, including:
- Pain relief: the cold can reduce inflammation and relieve pain, which can be especially beneficial for people with chronic pain or sports injuries.
- Stress relief: cold application can promote the release of endorphins, leading to an increased sense of well-being and reduced stress.
- Improved skin health: cryotherapy can improve skin texture by stimulating collagen production and reducing skin irritation.
- Increased energy: After a cryotherapy session, many people report increased energy and focus.
- Regeneration: After exercise, the cold chamber aids recovery and improves circulation in the muscles
- Well-being: The subjectively felt well-being (mental and physical) improves, I always call it an "instant mood booster".
Where can I try cryotherapy?
