Recipe of the month: Double Frenchtoast aka Sweet Sin

Bread dipped in a batter of egg and milk and fried until brown, usually served with syrup or sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. It doesn't get much better or more delicious than that. What do you think?

Recipe February

Double French toast

2 people

4 slices of white bread toast
2 organic eggs
1 vanilla bean
4 tbsp. cream

Simply enjoy without a bad conscience!
some jam or nut puree
cinnamon sugar to taste or powdered sugar
some strawberries and blueberries
some maple syrup
clarified butter or coconut oil for frying

Remove bark from toast with sharp knife and spread jam or nut puree to taste on two slices at a time. Top with the uncoated slice of toast.

Crack eggs into a bowl and mix with scraped vanilla bean (vanilla sugar also works!) and the cream. Turn the double toast in the egg-vanilla mixture and fry out in plenty of clarified butter or coconut oil. Turn in cinnamon sugar or sprinkle with powdered sugar. Add neat berries and enjoy with maple syrup.

About the author:

Let me introduce myself.
My name is Bettina and I have been cooking with passion ever since I can remember. Originally I studied architecture and worked for many years as an architectural photographer. I am 55, have raised 4 children and live in Munich with my husband, dog and youngest child. I am also a grandma.
Last year I completed a one-year training as a nutritionist and as a mindfulness coach. Healthy food and a happy soul are the basis for a healthy life, so I try to translate all my knowledge into healthy and delicious dishes.

For a few years now, I have been organizing cooking trips to Marrakech. Unfortunately, Corona is throwing a wrench in the works at the moment.

From now on I may suggest you a recipe every month. Mainly vegetarian and always seasonal. It should be quick and delicious. I promise!
